First Published Stories

I like to think this is a major landmark for me. I've published two four short stories on Amazon, one by itself and the other as three stories in one volume. This certainly isn't the way I imagined it would be when I finished the first draft of Born of the Fire years back. It'll probably still be years down the road before I try to publish that or Out of the Storm. Odds are good that as far as novels go I'll probably try to publish Steel Freedom first, even though I've barely started it.

In truth, I expect that I'll always have more plans for writing than actually published writing. That's just the way my mind works. I have plans for roughly seven novels, two of which are mostly complete drafts, and at least two series of short stories - Under Falling Skies, and Ashes of Empire, the latter of which will have actually consistent characters and overall form.

My plans for Under Falling Skies are too keep it without consistent characters (unless for some reason a lot of people just fall in love with one of my characters) or over-arching form. It's just a bunch of stories pulled out of the setting left behind by the novels I've written (and re-written). There is no particular chronological order to the stories I plan to write in the series. In short, the series is going to be a collage open to whatever ideas I feel like putting there. Or suggestions that other people give me. So if there's something that you would love to see in Under Falling Skies, let me know! I'm also looking for reviews on my stories.

And of course, here are the links to them on Amazon: (highlight them to see them)

I've also learned that creating cover art is relatively easy and painless.
